About Conference and EU Harmony Project

European Union Harmony Project

NMIMS University has been selected for the prestigious European Union project for its internationalization strategy. The EU HARMONY project called, “Internationalization and Virtual Exchange: Borderless between EU and Asian Countries,” involves Universities in Spain, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Lithuania, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and India. From India, The Vellore Institute of Technology, University of Hyderabad & the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies are part of the consortium. The project led by University of Zaragoza, Spain will support and strengthen higher education, through increased virtual mobility, accessibility, modernization, and internationalization. Important component of the project is Internationalisation at Home (IaH) which is built around the assumption that for various reasons the largest part of universities’ student body will always remain non-mobile and therefore deprived from access to global knowledge and skills. Important goal of the project is embracing IaH as an institutional policy for internationalisation in domains of curriculum, teaching and learning, extra-curricular activities as well as liaison with local cultural/ethnic groups.

This project is in keeping with the internationalization goals of the NEP which promotes sharing of best academic and research practices through interactions between diverse education systems, towards developing global citizens through mobility including virtual mobility of students and scholars.

About Mumbai

Mumbai (Bombay) is the vibrant and pulsating capital of Maharashtra. For over a century, Mumbai has been the commercial and industrial centre of India with a magnificent harbour, imposing multi-storied buildings, crowded thoroughfares, busy markets, shopping centres and beautiful tourist spots.  The British acquired Mumbai from the Portuguese in 1665 and handed it over to the East India Company in 1671 for a handsome annual rent of Sterling Pounds 10 in Gold! It was only in 1862 that the original seven islands were joined together by causeways and bridges.

The City of Dreams lives up to its name, featuring a dreamlike encounter for all visitors. Serving just the right things on your platter, Mumbai is a city that will build its perspective on what you seek. The city soaks everything into its fabric, making it its very own. From upcoming actors struggling to make it big on the silver screen to Bollywood superstars, from big industrialists to tribes of fisherman and slum dwellers, Mumbai is a city with a million stories of human survival emerging every day.

Mumbai is one of the main centres for art, culture, music, dance and theatre. It is a dynamic, pulsating and happening cosmopolitan city. For a party lover, Mumbai is all about clubs and ravishing parties, for a tranquil mind it is the beautiful sunsets over the Bandra Fort and the serene seashores, for a shopaholic the Linking Road and the Colaba Causeway will be their go-to place and  if history and culture is the draw, Mumbai is steeped in tales of yore and defining cultural heritage. With something for everyone, Mumbai will awaken and thrill you like no other city can!
