Meeting with the Delegation of Maynooth University, Ireland

NMIMS Mumbai hosted a delegation from Maynooth University, Ireland on Thursday, 17th April 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to foster international academic partnerships and collaborative initiatives.

Visiting Delegation from Maynooth University included:

• Brijesh Tripathi, Program Chairperson, Liberal Studies, Assistant Professor

The summary of the Discussion:

1. Exploring the possibility of organizing a June Summer School to align with NMIMS’s academic calendar.
2. Considering the option of a virtual Summer School to widen accessibility and participation.
3. Discussions around a Postgraduate Admission Partnership, including the potential for discounted tuition fees.
4. Initiating a semester-long student exchange program between the institutions, offering access to interdisciplinary courses.
5. Exploring joint online learning initiatives and faculty pedagogical collaboration.
6. Discussions on staff and faculty exchange programs to strengthen bilateral academic engagement.
7. Potential for JDSoLA to host field researchers and visiting scholars interested in Mumbai’s urban studies, art, and architecture. The department also proposed organizing City Walks to help visiting students experience the cultural and socio-economic dynamics of Mumbai as a global city in the Global South.

The meeting marked a meaningful step toward fostering academic and cultural collaboration between the two institutions.
