Dr. Susan Bain and Dr. Terrence F. Graham have delivered a guest lecture at Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy and Technology Management (SPPSPTM), SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai on January 8, 2024. Many students and faculty from various specialization attended this session namely, M.Pharm (RA), B. Pharm, B.Pharm+MBA (RA elective students), Research Scholars and Faculty member.
The lecture scheduled at 10.00a.m witnessed Dr. Saritha Shetty, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, hosting the event and welcoming the speakers and Dr. Jagannath Sahoo, Dean, SPPSPTM, felicitating the guest with floral bouquet. After the introduction of the speakers, podium was handed over to the speakers to address the gathered audience.
Dr. Susan Bain has covered the outline of the Comprehensive Overview of U.S. Clinical Trial Regulations and Requirements. Dr. Bain explained the purpose of evaluating the clinical trials conduct and compliance with the protocols, SOPs, GCP and applicable regulatory requirements. She spoke on few of the case studies on the regulatory compliances and its importance while studying the regulatory landscape of US. This was followed by question and answers round wherein the students took keen interest in the case study evaluations and the queries were satisfactory answered and appreciated.
Dr. Graham took over the session by introducing the University and the courses related to USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He emphasised on the Evolving Career Directions in Pharmacy Education. He explained the overall impact of higher education in Pharmacy and the career growth. This was followed by Q&A session and Dr. Jagannath Sahoo felicitated Dr. Graham. The participants were satisfied with the talks and felt inspired towards clinical research and regulatory requirements. At the end, Dr. Saritha Shetty delivered vote of thanks and concluded the event.
