International Digital Storytelling Competition

Harmony Project co-funded by Erasmus + program of the European Union on Internationalization announces Digital Storytelling Competition for all UG and integrated Master’s program students who are not in the final year of their programs


 


Theme: Youth, Intercultural Awareness and Cultural Diversity (IACD) 


What do you need to do: Creatively showcase a multimedia product (using a mixture of mediums such as audio, video, and photographs) of not more than 4 minutes as a digital story on the theme above. The idea is to challenge long-standing beliefs and how individuals view themselves and the world around them. Your digital story could be based on lived experience or scripted from imagination, but reflecting contemporary realities. No advanced cameras or other equipment are required to produce your digital story. You are encouraged to use your smartphones for the purpose.


Who is eligible: Individuals (Indian and foreign nationals) who are currently enrolled in a UG or Integrated Master’s programme at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) across all campuses. To be eligible, they should be students continuing their education at NMIMS in 2023-24.


The Prize: Three winners from NMIMS University will be able to attend a two-week boot camp on intercultural awareness and cultural diversity (IACD) to be organized by Varna University of Management (VUM), Varna, Bulgaria in June/July 2023. All expenses towards travel, visa processing, and stay will be borne by the project. The winners must have a valid passport by January 15, 2023.


You will learn to:

Use your mobile phone to shoot excellent video. Use mobile apps to complete your story using video, audio, images, and insert titles. Register online here for the workshop latest by January 5, 2023.

Shortlisted contestants will be given additional training/technical support to finish their digital stories.




How, when and where to submit: The submissions will happen in two phases. In the first phase each participant is required to submit details of shot division and story board for the 4-minute video. The deadline of this submission is 20th January 2023. 20 students will be shortlisted in this phase.The submission link for this will be updated

In the second phase the 20 students will be required to submit the final 4-minute video. The deadline for the same is 15th February 2023. The submission link for this will be updated.


To help you prepare: One day workshop on Cultural Studies, Digital Storyboarding & Shot Division will be conducted by the School of Branding & Advertising, NMIMS University  on January 10, 2023 from 2 pm-5.30 pm.
