As part of the Tutorials Policy at SVKM’s Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, NMIMS Mumbai, a Guest Lecture on the “History of European Union Social Law” was held on January 25, 2025, for 2nd-year BA.LLB. and BBA.LLB. students.
Prof. Bart Roels, an expert in Social and European Law, provided students with deep insights into EU Social Law, emphasizing its historical evolution, key concepts, and institutional functions. He elaborated on the stages of regional integration, discussing Free Trade, Customs Union, Common Market, and Economic Union. The session highlighted the importance of balancing deepening and enlargement in the European Union’s legal framework.
The students actively engaged in the session and participated in a Q&A discussion, gaining valuable knowledge on EU Social Law and its socio-economic implications.
The event was organized by Adv. Usha Andewar, Visiting Faculty at NMIMS and Practicing Advocate at the Bombay High Court. Ms. Shraddha Pandit, Assistant Professor of Law & Ph.D. Candidate, NMIMS Mumbai, served as the Faculty Mentor for the session.
