NMIMS Deemed to be University (as per UGC Norms) establishes fresh identity
The SVKM trust dreamt to create an institution that was a preferred partner for the industry and a chosen destination for management education in the country. It had the ambition to reach out to the world through its programmes and research initiatives. The management school, 32 years old has today lived up to the dream.
Dr. Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS Deemed to be University (as per UGC Norms) said, "the new logo reflects our passion for knowledge, growth, and recognition at the national and global level. It is a logo that inspires the community to innovate, think out of box and reach out to the world with new products that connect with existing and potential customers, new market segments that so far remained outside the radar. The new identity represents the new energy of NMIMS as a young university of the 21st century that aspires to create new paradigms for higher education?.
The symbolic representation of inherent qualities and vision of NMIMS is represented in the new identity by four elements that are(a) Elephant -the largest land mammal admired for wisdom, knowledge, strength and loyalty (b) Black bands representing books i.e. knowledge (c) Red quadrant that denotes passion (d) Laurel wreath that shows achievement.
Students of the University were very excited to see the new identity and the way it was unveiled us was just surreal. They loved the change because it is very contemporary and impactful.

The brand NMIMS is an aspirational brand in professional education reflected by number of applications and seats available across programmes. In 2013-14 admissions, for just about 2400 seats the university received total of over 80,000 applications and is one of the institutions whose programmes are oversubscribed, with the business school taking the lead. The school today has earned recognition across business schools and continues its dominance and leadership in management education in the BBA programme emerging among top 5 programmes in India.
NMIMS Deemed to be University (as per UGC Norms) is amongst top 3 that includes public and private universities. Its School of Technology Management & Engineering is today, among the top 10 best emerging colleges in Maharashtra and Pharmacy school perceived as 4th best Pharmacy school by recruiters. The school continues to win laurels nationally. It was set up in 1981 as a business school. The dream was to build an institution founded on the core value of learning excellence, innovation and entrepreneurship.
