SVKM's NMIMS University views itself as a part of the community in its various locations, and reflects this by being an active participant and corporate citizen. Academic Courses – for Working Executives
It has become imperative to constantly update one’s knowledge and skills in the wake of competition. Thus for working executives who desire to acquire Management Qualifications, the Part-time/Distance Learning Degree and Diploma courses are most suitable. So far a number of executives have benefited from these courses. Our Part-time courses that are organized in the evening hours / weekends are practical, contemporary and well recognized by the industry. For people in off-campus locations in India and elsewhere the Distance Learning Programmes and Programmes via VSAT are offered as a facility to learners.

Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC)
In order to give greater focus to the interaction with the industry, an exclusive cell has been set up – Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC), with the financial support from AICTE. Industry Institute Partnership Cell is the focal point of sustained relationships with companies for the following:

• Corporate Projects
• Industry Specific Training programmes
• Management Development Programmes
• Mentorship Programme for Students by Industry Experts
• Curriculum Development: to concurrently review with the industry partners the relevance of courses conducted by NMIMS.
• Consultancy & Research assignments: Our Consultancy & Research Cell undertakes many industry projects on a regular basis for the faculty and students.
• Centers of Excellence: Activities under this center will be focused more towards specialized research, consultancy, market trends, financial analysis, understanding markets, consumers, establishment of endowment chairs and scholarships etc.
• Faculty–Executive Interchange programme: The faculty writes case studies, conducts MDP’s & training programmes for companies while the executive conducts specialized modules for students, carries industry research & simulation games in the campus.
• Institutionalizing awards for outstanding students, sponsoring case study contests, simulation games, seminars, workshops etc.
• Guest lectures by CEO’s and senior corporate executives to share their experiences with students.
• Seminars: deputing companies for seminars& sponsoring these programmes.
• Interacting with student bodies and cells by sponsoring programmes and deputing speakers for the same. Some of the important events are

The tie up with Jindal Iron and Steel Company (JISCO) involves exchanging a faculty member with an industrial manager in a unique interchange of their roles for a period of three months. The manager works on the campus and undertakes academic activity like conducting classes; writing up Case studies while the faculty member works in the company, Designs Case study for the industry (JISCO) on the basis of his experience.

This facilitates long-standing relationships between our faculty and their peers in the industry, research centers and other agencies. Member companies gain access to research results, meet top students entering the job market and work collaboratively with the NMIMS faculty. The faculty in turn, can apply industry perspectives to academic programmes and identify new areas of research.

Institutional Initiatives
NMIMS has been associated with different organizations such as the Rotary Club of Bombay West, Bombay Management Association, All India Management Association for organizing seminars/conferences in the areas of Empowerment for VSO’s, Corporate Governance, Leadership, Leveraging Human Potential, etc.
