Dr. B Karunakar is a management thinker and practitioner having 26 years experience with a diverse background in strategic planning, business development, finance and general management. In his continuing career, he had held responsible positions in financial services, manufacturing, IT industry and pharmaceutical Industry with the last nine years focused on Education & Training.

As a Professor of Business Strategy and Leadership Development, he designed and delivered several management development programs for various companies. He had also conducted faculty development programs for premier educational institutions. Further, he had authored several articles on various issues in management and had written/edited three books in the areas of strategy, leadership and change management.

Earlier in his career, he had worked with organizations like ILFS, Canbank Financial Services in the area of Investment Banking, with UB Group in Corporate Finance and subsequently with the Pennar Group in a leadership role with experiences that involved from start-ups and turnaround success stories. He worked with Dr Reddy’s from 2005 where initially for the first three years he led the Learning and Development efforts. In that role, he was responsible for creating strategy, developing and supporting the learning needs of the organization. Later he headed DRFHE (Dr Reddy’s Foundation for Health Education) where the mission and work involved capacity building and training interventions for the health care community, creating professional health care educators for the future and leading patient support initiatives with the objective of strengthening the health care delivery system for better patient care.
