Faculty
Faculty has a very significant role in the development of the NMIMS Deemed-to-be University. Today, the total number of faculty in the NMIMS is over 300, spread across Management, Technology, Pharmacy, Architecture, Commerce and Sciences. Over the years the faculty has contributed to research and published and presented papers in both National and International conferences.
The NMIMS faculty has also been recognized as outstanding faculty by various forums. The SBM faculty has consistently been recognized as the best teacher in management by Bombay Management Association (BMA) ever since the award was conceptualized in 1990. The research work of the faculty has found its way in the conference papers at the Academy of Management, USA. NMIMS faculty, Dr. Nilay Yagnik presented 2 papers at the Academy of Management, Anaheim, California, USA.
The faculty of the NMIMS sits on the corporate and the Government Boards and Committees.
Dr. Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor & Distinguished Professor of Marketing, has been nominated by the Government of India, Ministry of HRD as member of Board of Governors of Triple ITM Gwalior. In the past, he has also been President of ISTD and has been conferred the fellowship.
Dr. R. S. Gaud worked as an advisor in the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi for a period of five years. He is also a member of editorial advisory board of Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Education and Research.
Prof. T. M. Chhaya is an active member with the Council of Architecture, assisting in evaluation of Architecture Institutions in India, and a Design Jury Member for the Commonwealth Association of Architects for the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
Prof. Seema Mahajan was awarded the “2007 Teaching Excellence Award” of the MBA International Program of Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece.
To complement the full time faculty, NMIMS Deemed-to-be University draws upon the industry for visiting faculty support and also invites distinguished academicians from leading Universities and B-schools for teaching courses as also conducting MDPs, and initiating Research along with the Indian faculty.
Given the faculty’s industry and academy experience the corporates have come forward to take their help through consulting and training interventions. Over a period of time, the University faculty have significantly added value to ICICI Prudential, Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Citigroup Globus Services, Jindal Steel, Indian Hotels, Eureka Forbes, L & T, Taj Group and others.
