We at NMIMS, strive to do the same- striving to bring excellence in the field of education

Our vision at NMIMS, Hyderabad is to train the students to become socially sensitive, develop inquisitive minds and imbibe the persistence to change – not only for themselves but also the organization that they serve so that India and the world becomes a better place to live. We intend to achieve this through educational excellence, innovative research and social outreach programs.

NMIMS, Hyderabad had an interesting journey, since we started operations in November 2010. We started with the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) program for working executives. The program is designed to benefit working executives who wish to acquire cutting edge management skills. The program is delivered over the weekend to enable easy participation. Our second program had started on 20th March, 2011, the third batch on 10th September 2011 and the fourth batch on 11th February 2012. There has been no looking back after the first batch joined and batch after batch reposed confidence in us. New batches will be started at regular intervals, the details of which would be posted on the website from time to time.

In June 2011, we launched our First Fulltime PGDM Batch (Two year programme). These students were selected through rigorous selection procedure of NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) that is held during last quarter of every year followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

We are doing things uniquely. We go beyond the regular academics with an emphasis on practice. There are 8 programs that help a student develop leadership skills, critical thinking skills, communication skills and effective implementation skills. The idea behind these programs is the emphasis on the doing and the being part

  1. Value added workshops on Leadership and Indian Ethos
  2. Value added workshop on Project Management and Analytics
  3. Corporate Conclaves with highlight on various themes viz change management, social media marketing, India’s financial markets, globalization, sustainability etc
  4. Coffee with Alumni where there is sharing of experiences by the invited alumni
  5. Outdoor sports with a focus on learning lessons from management and leadership
  6. Sports events
  7. Cultural events
  8. We Care projects with an objective of instilling social responsibility sensitivity

Innovation is the key to progress in the modern world. In our pursuit of excellence, we will constantly strive, upgrade and add newer areas of education and research to make our programs more relevant to the students, firms and other stakeholders. NMIMS prides itself in having quality faculty and invests in its faculty development. The faculty is very experienced and highly knowledgeable and endeavors to contribute through research papers, cases and working papers.

We have a supportive administrative system, which proactively addresses the students and faculty needs.  To make the learning/growth happen, we believe in having open and transparent discussions with the concerned stakeholders. We endeavor to provide a rewarding and enjoyable career for the students who join us. We are endeavoring to transcend horizons with focus on excellence.

I am happy to state that it is with the unstinted support of our parent organization Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) and the guidance from NMIMS, Mumbai that we seek to achieve the goals set by us.

Going forward, we have plans to start more programs for working executives and make the Hyderabad campus into a learning hub for all the corporate houses and the academia as well. We would like to strive on the motto “Growing to Serve, Serving to Grow”.
