In this program, the 9th trimester in the 3rd year is earmarked for Industrial Training and a minor project. The objective of this training is to familiarize the students with the overall working of the Industrial Organization in their respective area of specialization & also undertake a project. This training is scheduled to commence in January and complete in March for a minimum period of 3 months. However the training may be continued upto May (i.e. for a period of 5 months) based on the requirement of the industry and concerned student.
In the 13th Trimester, (i.e. during the First Trimester of 5th Year and the preceding Summer Vacation period), the students will undertake a major project of 3-5 months duration in the industry. This project will address the industry's pressing needs in any techno - managerial field. The Objective of the programme shall be to enhance the students' managerial skills & promote a strong bonding with the industry.
In order to ensure high quality of the training / project work, a mentor will be assigned from the concerned industry and a faculty will also be assigned from the University for each student. Together these people will ensure proper guidance and control. Both the Training/Project works mentioned above carry full credits and the students would be evaluated based on their Training performance, their project report & their performance in the subsequent Presentation / Viva examination. The examination panel will include both Internal Faculty & Industry based experts. The project work is expected to be of the highest standard and will add significant value to the industry.
The MBA (Tech) first batch students will pass out at the end of the 15th Trimester (May 2009) and by this time they would be well equipped to handle technical & managerial challenges facing the industry. They will be placed in areas like Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations, Systems etc. in industries in their respective or allied sectors. (IT, Telecom, Manufacturing & Chemical Sectors.) They will function as effective “technomanagers” from Day 1 of their career.
